Green Smoothie Energy
Today I have been struggling with energy, I’ve been following a different sleep pattern recently and it’s taking me a while to get used to it. I find myself waking up way too early, like 3:30am and I’m wide awake so I get up, meditate and try and get back to sleep. I finally get some sleep and wake up at the usual 5:30am to get up and organized for the day but because of the broken sleep I get extra tired in the early afternoon.
Can you relate to this? Do you want to know how to solve this problem of low energy?
How often do you reach for that coffee at 3pm to give you an energy kick? Have you tried feeding your body natural ingredients that we actually need instead of a caffeine hit? Depending on your access to a blender at work you have two options for this week’s challenge:
1) Take these ingredients to work with you and blend it up when you need an energy boost
2) Blend up your green smoothie ingredients at home and have it ready in the office fridge for when you need it. It tastes amazing so just make sure you keep it for yourself!
Now, onto the recipe. This is what I do to fill my body with quality, natural energy anytime I need it.
- 1 Apple
- 1 Banana
- 1 Pitted date
- 1 Handful of spinach
- Small handful of cashews
- 500ml of Rice milk
Blend all ingredients together and enjoy!
The first time I had it I was really surprised how good it tasted, I mean I like all smoothies anyway but this was extra tasty!
So that is your challenge for the next week, replace your daily 3pm caffeine hit with an all-natural green smoothie energy boost and see if you can notice a difference.
